Summary
A delicious Southern style Slow Cooker salisbury Steak recipe.
Ingredients
2 pounds lean ground beef
1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion soup mix
¼ cup Italian seasoned bread crumbs
¼ cup milk
¼ cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
1 (1 ounce) packet dry au jus mix
1 cup water
½ tsp pepper
1 tsp dried oregano flakes
1 tsp Italian seasoning
½ tsp thyme
Instructions
In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion soup mix, pepper, oregano, thyme, Italian seasoning, bread crumbs, and milk using your hands. Shape into 6-8 patties. (I like them a little big, so I make 6.)
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cover the steak patties in flour just to coat, and then place them into the heated skillet to quickly brown on both sides.
Place browned patties into the slow cooker stacking alternately. They will stack on top of each other, so place them as evenly as possible.
In a medium sized bowl, mix together the cream of chicken soup, au jus mix, and water and then pour evenly over the patties. Cook on the Low setting for 4 or 5 hours, or High setting for 2-3 hours until ground beef is well done.
Serve with mashed potatoes, salad, and rolls.
