    • 1 onion, chopped
    • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
    • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
    • 1: 32 oz container of low sodium chicken broth
    • 1: 15 oz can of petite diced tomatoes, most of the liquid drained
    • 2 cups tomato sauce
    • 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 6-7 lasagna noodles broken into pieces
    • 1/2 cup of fresh grated Parmesan cheese
    • Shredded mozzarella cheese
    • Toasted crostini or bread slices, optional
