    • 1 cup dry white wine, or dry vermouth
    • 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth
    • 2 bay leaves
    • 1 Tbsp Herbes de Provence, (or 1 tsp each of rosemary thyme, basil and oregano)
    • 1/4 cup heavy cream, or half-and-half
    • salt and pepper, to taste
    • 2 Tbsp cornstarch
    • 1/4 cup water, cold
    • 2 Tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
