    • 2 1/2 cups water, divided
    • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
    • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric (optional, just for colour)
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • Freshly ground pepper, to taste
    • 1 vegetable bouillon cube
