    • 300 ml (11/4 cups) milk
    • 50 g fresh yeast (see notes)

    • 55 g (1/4 cup) sugar
    • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
    • Up to 500 g (31/2 cups) plain (all-purpose) flour
    • 100 g (2/3 cup) almonds
    • 100 g (1/2 cup) sugar
    • 1 tablespoon milk
    • 500 ml (2 cups) whipping cream
    • Icing (confectioners’) sugar for dusting
