- 4 cups soft breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup finely diced onion

- 2 tbs parsley
- 2 tsp poultry seasoning
- 1/2 tsp salt or to taste
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter divided
- 1/2 cup cooked crumbled mild sausage optional
