Ingredients
- 1/3 cup regular breadcrumbs (I use Progresso Plain)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons cream
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon allspice
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1/2 medium yellow onion, minced
- 1 large clove garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground chicken or pork
- 11/2 pound ground chuck
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour *See NOTE for an optional thickener.
- 1 (14.5 oz) can low sodium beef broth
- 1 (14.5 oz) can low sodium chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon Beef Instant Bouillon Granules (I use Wyler’s)
- 1 tablespoon low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- Salt, if needed. Taste first.
- 1-2 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
- Optional: Lingonberry Jam or Cranberry Sauce
