    For a weeknight or weekend meal try this low carb Taco Salad. With only 5 net carbs and tons of taste and nutrition, this recipe is great for lunch or dinner, and reheats and travels very well. You could even make the meat and veggie mixture in a big batch and use over zucchini pasta, cabbage salad or eat it on it’s own! The sour cream and cheese adds the extra fat goodness you need on the ketogenic diet, and I would recommend adding avocado as well for extra fat! The sour cream also provides an extra boost of probiotics. Experiment with the spices to get the right amount of heat for your tastes – I like mine SPICY. The two teaspoons of Chili Powder wasn’t enough for me, so I added another teaspoon of Cayenne Pepper. Enjoy this low carb treat!

    Ingredients

    • 2 - Garlic Cloves (finely minced)
    • 1/2 teaspoon - Onion Powder
    • 2 teaspoons - Chili Powder
    • 1 - Yellow Onion (diced)
    • 2 - Bell Peppers (any colors, diced)
    • 1/2 cup - Diced Tomatoes (with liquid)
    • 2 cups - Shredded Cabbage (white and purple cabbage finely shredded)
    • 1/2 cup - Shredded Cheese
    • 1/2 cup - Sour Cream
    • 1.25 lbs - Ground Turkey (may also use ground beef)
    • 1/3 cup - Italian Parsley (for garnish)
    • 1/3 cup - Celery (finely chopped)
    • 1 small can - Green Chilies
    • 1 jar - Sliced Jalapeño (for garnish)
