    • 9 egg whites
    • ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
    • 6 egg whites
    • ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
    • 2¼ cup granulated sugar
    • ½ cup water
    • 2½ cups unsalted butter, at room temperature
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
