    • shah jeera or caraway seeds - 1 and ½ tablespoons
    • onion - 2 sliced (optional)
    • green chili - 2 slit and deseeded
    • cloves - 3
    • cinnamon stick - ¾-inch piece
    • bay leaf - 2 small
    • cardamom - 2
    • mace - one small piece
    • butter + oil - 2 tablespoons butter + 1 tablespoon oil
    • water - 3 cups
