    Ingredients

    • 2 t. extra virgin olive oil
    • 1/2 cup yellow onion, diced
    • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
    • 2 T. tomato paste
    • 2 T. sherry or wine (optional)
    • 28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
    • 14.5 oz. can petite diced tomatoes
    • 3 T. fresh parsley, chopped
    • 2 T. fresh basil or basil paste (I used Gourmet Garden Basil Paste)
    • 1 t. dried oregano
    • 1/4 t. red pepper flakes
    • 1 t. granulated sugar
    • 3/4 t. kosher salt
