    This seasonal treat is a little out of the ordinary, and delicious! I've combined Hatch chiles with apples to deliver a tasty, warm and rich crisp.

    Ingredients

    • 2 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and diced
    • 1/2 cup (about 2 large) Hatch chile peppers, seeds and pith removed, diced small
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
    • 2 tablespoons cold butter, cubed, plus extra for the baking dish
    • 1/2 cup rolled oats
    • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 3 tablespoons pepitas
    • 8 tablespoons (1/4 cup) cold butter, cubed
